Most folding bikes hover around $1800. Most e-bikes start around $1200. For around $900, you get a bike that does both. I am still in the process of stress testing my purchase, but I have so far had no regrets. The bike is easily stored in my car, and makes me care much less about finding optimal parking in the city.
The mud guards are a bit of a problem. Out of the box, I had to use a stove to heat up and untwist one of them so that it wouldn't scrape the rear tire. They are very flimsy and tend to shift around.
The carry bag has a tendency to sway, and any kind of load gives the bike a tendency to tip over when parked. I had to take the side handles of the bag and slip them over the handlebars to give it 5 points of contact so that it would stop swaying.
Don't get me wrong. The bike does have its flaws, but I can overlook those considering how much cheaper it is than other bikes. So far, the frame seems very sturdy and the bike can handle some roughness. I am a bit concerned about replacing tires later on down the road, and I would have liked a chain guard to protect it against wet conditions.
Overall however, I am so far satisfied with my purchase. One final note: there is no reason NOT to go for the e-bike package. You can still use it in manual mode just fine.
